US appeals court halts construction of Trump’s $400 million White House ballroom project

A federal appeals court on Friday ordered US President Donald Trump’s administration to stop construction of its $400 million ballroom on the site of the White House’s demolished East Wing. The court added that a president cannot fundamentally reshape the White House without congressional approval.
