Operation Trident, a major anti-narcotics crackdown targeting an international syndicate operating across the India-Myanmar-Bangladesh corridor, marks a significant escalation in India’s fight against drug trafficking.

The operation follows broader efforts under the government’s Vision Document on Drug Control 2026-2029, which aims to dismantle major drug cartels, improve prosecution rates and eliminate organised narcotics networks by the end of 2029.
