Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is on a collision course with Donald Trump as the U.S. president seeks to extricate himself from the war, with both men’s goals unmet and Israeli military operations tied down in Lebanon. Speaking with FRANCE 24’s Sharon Gaffney, Aaron David Miller, Senior Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, says that “this has been a strategic disaster for the state of Israel. All of Benjamin Netanyahu’s war aims – diminished support for proxies, restrictions on ballistic missiles, overthrow of the regime, or weakening of the regime – none of this has occurred.”
