Israelis on Thursday held memorials and joined protests to mark 1,000 days since the deadly October 7 Hamas attack on Israel, which triggered the war in Gaza. Many Israelis are calling for an official enquiry into why the government failed to prevent the attack and how it handled the aftermath during which 251 hostages were held in Gaza.
